Riley Kern is a Portrait photographer located in Orange County and Los Angeles. Her work has most recently been featured on the covers and interiors of both LA and OC Weekly magazines. Among many others she has also been featured in Slake, Deadbeat, Pistol, Evolved and has had covers and features for Tattoo Society, Pink Bow City, and MMA Business. The city of Lancaster commissioned her to shoot their 12-month Pin-Up calendar entitled "Support Our Troops". She has also shot the cover of the 2012 “Pin-Up’s for Pit Bulls” calendar. The British television station, Sky, hired her to shoot stills for their show, “A Year to Save my Life” and she has also photographed images for a book about the Artist, Shag.

Riley grew up in Bakersfield and her love of country western music and culture can be seen all throughout her work. Her appreaciation for all things retro can also be attributed to her hometown roots. She has been a hobbyist in the martial art, Muay Thai, since she was eighteen years old and her personal project, "fighters", documents the professional fighters and coaches at the gyms where she has trained. She is currently working on two other personal projects that will be announced in 2014. Riley loves to have fun with her subjects, push the limits and experiment. Her humor and fun loving personality are apparent in her colorful and vibrant images.

Riley has a BFA in photography and imaging from The Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, Ca.) Prior to that she attended The Orange Coast College School of Photography for 2 years. Taking classes in Fashion, portraiture, commercial photography and professional digital, film, and color photography.

She loves to share her knowledge and has taught workshops for Canon Camera, LADiG, Belmont High School of the Arts and Orange Coast College. She is currently looking forward to teaching more workshops for Canon and working on her editorial and personal projects.
